The next General Membership Meeting, along with a forum on plumbing training, will take place on 19 October 2017, and will coincide with the next WorldSkills Competition. This is a great opportunity to see the next generation of plumbers demonstrate their skills to an international audience. What better way could there be to promote the WPC’s message of the “role of plumbing in improving public health and safeguarding the environment by uniting the plumbing industry for the benefit of all?”
The General Meeting will take place in the morning, with presentations and discussion focused on best-practice plumbing training and standards from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The WorldSkills Plumbing Skills Competition will start on 15 October and conclude 19 October 2017. During the competition, Honorary Individual Memberships will be presented to WorldSkills plumbing competitors, and sponsoring organizations will receive Honorary Affiliate Memberships.
Holding the General Meeting alongside the WorldSkills Competition strengthens the organizational and personal links between the WPC and WorldSkills. The further development of these links with the central secretariat of WorldSkills and its 77 affiliated national level organizations is potentially valuable in a number of ways, including the advancement of the WPC’s goal of improving the standard of plumbing training worldwide.
